Love Crimes of Kabul is an intimate portrait of three young Afghan women accused of committing “moral crimes”, having sexual relations before marriage for example, or fleeing the family home. As we follow their stories from prison to trial, we discover the pressures and paradoxes with which today’s women in Afghanistan are faced—and the dangers they face if they refuse to conform.
