El Cuaderno de Barro

The Clay Diaries

More than 20 years ago, the painter Miquel Barceló traveled in the Sahara desert from Algeria to Mali. At the end of the journey, his paintings and his life had changed and he decided to install his workshop at Gogolí, at the top of the vault in the Dogon Country, where he spends long seasons. The fruit of these stays are world well known, but his African workshop has so far remained unveiled to the cameras. An exclusive documentary on the life and work of the artist.
