Miserabili
Miserabili follows the evolution of Italian society since the 1980s. The economy is the central subject of the spectacle, the glories and disillusions of a recent past which extends to the present day. Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is the imaginary interlocutor of Nicola, the narrator’s alter ego, and thus becomes the living symbol of change in society. This is an unbiased, vocal reflection about the ever-growing influence of the rules of the marketplace on the way we imagine the future, live in the present, and erase memories.
