Aspects of French Production

1929

Wall Street, October 1929: the worst economic crisis of the 20th century exploded suddenly. Stoked by frenzied speculation and the idea that each of us can be limitlessly rich, it definitively ended the euphoria of the 20s. A new era began, a time of extreme poverty, unemployment and social distress - especially in Germany, the hardest hit of European countries.
Using moving archive footage, 1929 tells the story of how this crisis so deeply determined the course of the last century.
