Vivre dans le pays le plus pauvre du monde

Living in the Poorest Country on Earth

Bagagi, in Niger, is a village of 600 inhabitants 6 miles from the Médecins Sans Frontières center in Mirrhia. Director Jean-Louis Saporito was there in July 2005, during the last food crisis. He met Hadiza and her young daughter, who was very ill. Hadiza is a peasant of 36. She is very beautiful, smiling and coquettish, though life has not been kind to her; she already had ten children but only two of them have survived. Thanks to her, Jean-Louis befriended the entire village. He returned for three years to share in the joys and sorrows of their daily lives in the world’s poorest nation. He shows us this "living" Africa, an Africa he loves.
