In the course of History, how can a small grain of sand have unexpected resonance 40 years on? We may find the answer in Vietnam. In this country that has endured two wars, three amazing lives among so many others crossed paths here. On October 26, 1967, John Sydney McCain's Skyhawk A-4 was shot down over Hanoi. A few days later, John McCain found himself opposite François Chalais, international reporter for French television. He conducted an interview with this pilot that would become an exceptional document. A third destiny would soon be affected by this meeting: that of Meï-Chen, a young Vietnamese refugee in France just after the Indochinese War.
