Transit Dubai
In the heart of the Middle-East a brand-new modern city is rapidly arising: the city of Dubai. But no city can or will exist without a population, and Dubai's population is a unique one. More than 80 percent of its inhabitants are temporary immigrants of European, Asian, American and Middle-East origin. Whether it is to earn fast money, to spend an exclusive life in luxury, to labor 7 days a week to support the family home, or to live the liberties of a Middle-East city with a flexible morale, they all eventually want to go home. Except for the privileged locals, who have no choice but to see their hometown grow into something nobody can predict the future. Through the eyes of four photography students, we step through the glittering façade of a city that might just be a mirage.
