Sprawa Emila B.The Case of Emil B.
Emil Barchanski is one of the youngest victims of the Martial Law. In early 1982, he and his high school colleagues set fire under the Felix Dzierzynski, the Russian Revolutionary monument in Warsaw. Emil is arrested a month later, and as an effect of the cruel interrogation, forced to plead guilty. Soon after, he withdrew his depositions at the public trial of his colleague – Marek Marciniak. A few weeks later, Emil is killed in circumstances that stay unclear to this very day. The story is viewed through Emil’s mother’s eyes, who after so many years and the change of the political system, tries to explain the mysterious death of her son.
