Roadsworth: Crossing the Line
Armed with spray paint and handmade stencils, the artist Peter Gibson, aka Roadsworth, plays with the language of the streets, overlaying city asphalt markings with his own images: a crosswalk turned into a giant boot print, a left turn lane transformed into a zipper, vines choked up traffic dividers... Each piece begs the question: who owns public space? The film details the artist's prosecution in Montreal and his travels abroad to France, London and Amsterdam, as he imprints himself legitimately (and illegitimately) on foreign streets.
