Rany TskhinvalaThe Wounds of Tskhinvali
Ruslan Trashchev and Anton Stepanenko witnessed the events that developed on the night of August 8, 2008 in the capital of South Ossetia, the city of Tskhinvali. Georgian Army assaulted the sleeping city. The Grad missile systems, mortars, large-caliber guns shelled residential quarters, hospital and peacekeepers’ camp. What the Georgians did was wipe Tskhinvali and its civilians off the face of earth. Tskhinvali is the only city in South Ossetia, and its destruction meant collapse of the whole republic. The film tells us the story of occupation and military confrontation between the Georgian alignment and the Ossetia separatists supported by the Russian peacekeepers.
