My friend Mike is half-Swiss, half-American. He’s a painter and has been living in Portugal for 30 years, making him also Portuguese. He has his workshop at Fonte Sana, between Redondo and Alandroal; it’s a vast hangar where this film was shot. His pseudonym name is Michael Biberstein. His internationally acclaimed works belong to some of the most important collections and museums around the world. "Mike, why don’t you paint something so I can film it?" I asked him. "Why not?" he answered. "But I have to warn you, if I don’t like the painting, there won’t be a film." We took the risk. The result is this movie: an inner journey about the creation of a painting where its silence, its mystery and magic were filmed.
