Markus Raetz
Swiss artist Markus Raetz has the sixth sense for perceptions of the extraordinary kind, his works are as mystifying as a magician’s feats. They challenge our habits of observation, and they look at things from a completely new angle. Movement is involved in many of Raetz’ works: installations and sculptures change their appearance, either by being moved themselves or by having the viewer walk around them. Like this, a man wearing a hat looking Beuys becomes a hare, or a yes is turned into a no. By witnessing how his inherent world outlook works, a lot is revealed about Markus Raetz, the rather shy, literate and humorous person behind these incredible works of art.
