Mapplethorpe
Ismael Ivo is a Brazilian dancer and choreographer who lives in Germany since 1985. This choreography is composed in honor of Robert Mapplethorpe, a famous American photographer. This photographer has been the subject of controversy because his works deal with the erotism and the black men bodies. Ivo and Mapplethorpe met each other in New York, in the 80’s. Mapplethorpe is divided in three pieces: Prison, Flowers and Mortality, and the choreography dialogues between photography and dance to discuss the taboos.
