Kristek is considered as a hero: he works in a rescue team and during the floods, he saved a girl from drowning. He gives up this job for health reasons and starts devoting his time to his hobby. He records sounds made by birds, preferably near lakes. One day, he happens to catch sounds that do not belong to the animal world. He has recorded the noise made by Milka, who swims at night, and the sounds made by some odd group of people on the opposite bank of the lake. They are doing a ceremony that sounds beyond the moral and legal rules of mankind. Next morning the body of a young girl is found: she must be the victim of this perverse society… Soon after someone tries to kill both Kristek and Milka.
