Le Gendarme Citron
In the mid-50s, Robert Citron, a.k.a. Gendarme Citron, went to New Caledonia to engage in a personal and cinematic experience. Purchasing an 8mm camera, he became a filmmaker overnight. Fifty years later, the footage he had shot on the île des Pins and in Canala were shown to the public and pored over by collectors of Kanak culture.
