Le Frère qui envoya sa sœur Ethel Rosenberg sur la chaise électriqueThe Brother Who Sent the Rosenbergs to The Electric Chair
In July 1950, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, American citizens, were arrested by the FBI and charged with delivering secrets on the A-bomb to the Soviet Union. They were denounced by Ethel Rosenberg’s brother, David Greenglass, himself accused of espionage. The Rosenbergs pleaded their innocence until the very end; they were tried, sentenced and sent to the electric chair on June 19, 1953, leaving two children, Robert and Michael, 6 and 10 years of age, respectively. Greenglass accepted an immunity agreement to save his family: “if my wife is never arrested, indicted or prosecuted, I will tell you all I know.” David Greenglass was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and served 10 years. He still lives under an assumed name in the eastern United States.
