80-year-old, charismatic, Brussels-based artist Olivier Strebelle has always been ready to risk it all to make his dreams come true. His latest landmark achievement was the creation of a monument built in Beijing, which will become the memory of the 29th Olympics. The gigantic “Alley of the Athletes”, with its 130 tons of stainless steel, its 20-metre statues aligned over more than 100 metres, is a gift from Belgium to China.
