Jean-Toussaint Desanti, un destin de philosophe
French philosopher Jean-Toussaint Desanti (1914 – 2002) was a witness to the social, cultural and political upheavals of the 20th century. He was also one of its actors. His story is singular, “personified,” as he himself said. Through his poignant account, he takes us to the places that mattered to him, such as Corsica, where he was born. Meetings and memories reconstruct the memory, submitting the recomposed past to the gaze of the present. The film bears witness to the immense pleasure a philosopher takes in his work, which has nothing to do with the forbidding and unworldly image we commonly have of it.
