In the dead of winter in the Himalayan mountains of Zanskar, the Buddhist monks of Phukthal leave their monastery for a month. Crossing snow and ice, following dizzying paths or frozen riverbeds, they make their way to villages at several days' march to officiate at the rites of abundance. This journey is a trying but high-spirited adventure that breaks the monotony of monastic life and allows them to see friends and family. During their trek, we enter the private lives of these men of all ages and we discover the exceptional life of Kenrap, a little boy who chose to become a monk at the age of five, when he recalled that he was a monk in his previous life.
