Hier encore, je t'espérais toujours

Yesterday Still Hoping

In 1972 in Guinea, under the dictatorship of Sékou Touré, Nadine Bari’s husband disappeared without a trace. He had been a top civil servant in the country, and she has been fighting ever since to shed light on what happened. The film draws on Bari’s autobiographical novels, and her personal tragedy became a determined political quest, part of a movement that led to the adoption in 2006 of the UN’s International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. One woman’s search, in a universal struggle for the right to truth and protection of the families and children of the disappeared.
