Han, le prix de la liberté
Fleeing North Korea to freedom is the dream of hundreds of thousands of Koreans, but only 8,000 have managed the great escape to Seoul. Those who want to escape set off on a perilous journey across China and Southeast Asia, a 6,000-mile voyage to reach South Korea. Pyongyang in the North and Seoul in the South are only 125 miles away from one another. But between them is the most guarded and unreachable border in the world, the DMZ, the demilitarized zone, a vast scar cutting the Korean peninsula in two, thousands of miles of mines and watchtowers, a bequest of the Cold War... To flee from North to South, those who seek exile are forced to go secretly through China. For more than a year, a French TV news team investigated the lives of North Korean refugees while South Korean journalists followed a group in their escape across Southeast Asia.
