22 October 1941. Guy Môquet was held for several months in the detention camp at La Sablière near Châteaubriant along with political prisoners, common law criminals and ”reds.” Among them was Jean-Pierre Timbaud, who became leader of the men's group. Guy was 17. During an exchange of prisoners, he met Odette Leclan, another detainee at the camp. In Nantes, a few days earlier, the feldkommandant Hotz was gunned down in the street by Resistance fighters… In retaliation, 27 detainees at La Sablière were picked out for execution.
