In 1983, Françoise Dolto gave a series of lectures on the major questions of psychoanalysis and their social and educational consequences. This film reviews her thinking, which remains revolutionary because it never strays from its psychoanalytical main line, an art of storytelling coupled with a vision, a simplicity and a forthrightness free of any kind of tricks as regards her audience. Two witnesses, who agreed to talk about Dolto here and their personal relation with her, also play an important role in each film. The photos, family archives and Schubert music have explicit biographical or underlying functions as they discreetly tell us something about Dolto.
