Françoise DoltoFrançoise Dolto
In the aftermath of World War Two, Claude (10 years old), the son of communist underground fighters whose mother died at Auschwitz, and Ben (14), child of a prostitute and a small-time Jewish hood, confront the demons that haunt them, with Françoise Dolto. They meet thanks to her, become friends, live an outstanding adventure together, then separate to live opposing lives. We follow these two cases, along with the treatment of other children with severe problems, and with them the daily work of an outstanding doctor who invented a discipline: psychoanalysis for children. A woman who gave up neither motherhood nor love nor professional passion. A woman who declared at the age of ten that she’d be "an educating doctor to help parents understand their children." A woman who devoted her life to the cause of children.
