Euthanasie, le dernier combat de Chantal Sébire

Euthanasia, Chantal Sébire's Last Fight

Dead on March 19th of this year having absorbed a lethal dose of barbiturates, Chantal Sébire was affected for seven years of an esthésioneuroblastome, an evolutionary tumour of the sinus and the nasal partition. A few months before her death, she had called to the judicial and political powers to be able to die in her home, in the middle of her family, and in the dignity. She refused then the suicide, not wanting to leave a degrading image of herself. This 52 years old teacher, mother of 3 children, had re-launched the debate on euthanasia in France, where active euthanasia is strictly forbidden. In her demand, a television team was present beside her during her last fifteen days, allowing her to testify to her fight.
