The Roma are Kosovo’s second largest minority after the Serbs and are the victims of the gravest human tragedy taking place in Europe today. In the town of Mitrovica, Roma men, women and children trapped among highly toxic wastes in refugee camps located a mere kilometre from their own destroyed homes are slowly dying from poisoning. Between the fires of Albanian and Serbian nationalism and ignored by international organizations, the Roma are the real losers of the Balkan wars. This documentary takes us to the Mitrovica refugee camps where the ethnic, economic and health dimensions of the problem are explained by the victims of this tragedy. This is a rare occasion to really hear the voice of the Roma, the forgotten minority of the newest country in Europe.
