Au milieu de l'orchestreFront and Center
A prestigious conductor and an outstanding personality, Jean-Claude Casadesus is also known for his passion for taking music where it rarely is to be found: to prisons, hospitals and to children. Placing us in the orchestra’s midst, this documentary takes us into a rehearsal, making us feel the energy of one man in his interpretations of Mahler and Prokofiev. Casadesus shares his zeal with the students of the French Young People’s Orchestra. He communicates the passion for his art to the musicians of the National Orchestra of Lille; he opens himself up to mass marketing executives whom he draws into the emotions of an adrenaline-charged rehearsal, establishing a rich, intense exchange with this new and often neophyte audience.
