1968. Month of May. Charles de Gaulle is 77 and has a great past. President of France, a statesman of international standing, he takes a dim view of the student uprisings that are shaking the capital and spreading across the country. This is the story of the events of May ’68 and the private world of General de Gaulle, who soon found himself out of his depths and mysteriously departed for Baden-Baden, where French troops were stationed in Germany. Flight? Strategy? History books don’t say, but the film suggests a lead.
