Vidas minadasMined Lives
A documentary about one specific work of the Spanish war photographer Gervasio Sánchez. Ten years ago he met lots of children in the moment they were just damaged by mines. He published a book about their cases, how life can change because they stepped on a mine. The documentary focus the story on three ot those children: Sofia from Mozambique, Sokheum from Cambodja and Adis from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Since 1997 these boys are like sons for Gervasio. The photographer comes back to these countries to see how are his friends. He realises the situation is still very bad, even though the public engagement of the states. Last December 3rd 2007 marked the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Ottawa Treaty, which bans the use of anti-personal mines.
