"Working as an artist in residence in Slovenia I became aware of how isolated the people were in a certain region because of the almost total lack of public transport. Immobility was forced on them. This situation inspired Taxi Alaksi. I decided to link up certain Slovenian towns and villages behind the wheel of a taxi. In exchange for the ride, I asked the passengers to share with me a memory, a story, an experience or a part of their culture."
