Tammuz
On the morning of June 7, 1981, eight Israeli pilots took off for a suicidal mission: to bomb the Iraqi nuclear reactor at Tammuz. This film looks back at the events that led to this decision, the execution of the operation itself, and its consequences. Using rare archive footage and interviews with specialists and the pilots themselves, the film explains the context in which such a decision was made: fear of seeing Iraq with nuclear weapons, domestic tensions between opponents and supporters of the operation in view of the immense risk involved, both for the pilots and the entire country. In the wake of the attack, Israel was roundly condemned by the international community.
