An advertising film production crew arrives in the Algerian Sahara to make photo reportage for a new ice cream. Philippe, the photographer, a star in the world of fashion and advertising, Anouk, Vanessa and Mylene, three young models, accompanied by the small artistic staff headed by Isabelle, the production manager, move into a hotel in Tamanrasset, after being welcomed by Mahmoud, a local tour operator. Flanked by two policemen, Adlan and Hakim, the crew must work several days in the magnificent locations of the Hoggar. Everything seems idyllic, but real-life drama intrudes in the form of a group of illegal African immigrants who have crossed the border from Mali in the hope of reaching Europe. Philippe is shaken by this terrible reality so far from the futility of his professional concerns. He decides to stop the shooting and begins to take an interest in these Africans who are being ripped off by people smugglers.
