Silence dans la vallée
Somewhere in France, all that remains of the most important of two major factories that provided work to the whole region is a vast industrial wasteland in the center of the city. The second plant, bought by a American pension fund, is in the midst of relocation. The film examines the repercussions of these sudden changes, both for worker families and capitalist families, who for a long time were paternalistic and have now been swept away in the turmoil of neo-liberal globalization. A microcosm that sums up the destiny of France in the 20th century in a few square miles of land.
