Schnappschuss mit Che

Che Guevara's Long Shadow

October 1967: Ernesto ''Che'' Guevara dies in the mountains of Bolivia. What happened? The filmmaker met with the key witnesses: Felix Rodriguez, former CIA agent who had Che Guevara tracked down, interrogated and then shot; and Benigno, Che's comrade-in-arms. After fleeing Bolivia, Benigno joined a Cuban commando unit to hunt Che's murderer. But Rodriguez survived. Decades later, Benigno learns from Rodriguez that he attempted to save Che's life but was overruled by the Bolivian government. The two enemies become friends. To find out wether Rodriguez tells the truth, Wilfried Huismann travels to Bolivia. Apparently everything that Felix told his friend Benigno about the last hours of Che's life was a complete fabrication.
