"At age 20, they fought for Tunisian independence and there was no limit to what they could hope for. Were they too prudent in waiting for the country to be ready, or did time go too quickly for their dreams? These were the days when Muslims, Jews, Christians, atheists, men and women equally, lived together and fought together for a better world full of tolerance, equality and passion." This is a special portrait of progressive militants in post-independence Tunisia who raise the question of their heritage. Nadia El Fani gauges the mysteries of modernity as it thrived, for a time, in Tunisia from the 50s to the 80s. The film is centered on her father, who was one of the leaders of the Tunisian Communist Party.
