From 1977 to 1985, Israel and the United States succeeded in bringing thousands Ethiopian Jews (Falasha) to the Holy Land via Sudan, a Muslim country under Sharia law where all Jews were in danger of their lives. At the height of a famine, these people were saved, their long controversial statute as Jews finally recognized. This incredible underground venture was called Operation Moses.
