My Boy Jack

An intense family drama about duty, sacrifice and the horror of war. My Boy Jack is based on the true story of Jack Kipling, son of acclaimed British author Rudyard Kipling, who was determined to become a soldier in the First World War. Suffering from severe myopia, 17-year-old Jack was refused entry to the army on a number of occasions until his famous father, a personal friend of King George V, intervened and used his influence to gain Jack a commission in the Irish Guards. Shortly after going into action during the Battle of Loos, Jack was listed as "missing believed wounded", and Kipling and his American wife Caroline began a frantic search to find their son.
