22 October 2001. A court in Nanterre, France, approved a bid by the Groupe Seb for the purchase of part of bankrupt appliance producer Moulinex, one of France’s most famous brand names. The direct result for employees: four plants in France shut down, as well as a handful of sites abroad and a total of 5,400 persons out of work.
