Misérable solitudeBourbon Strip
Hanley is a septuagenarian who lives alone in Las Vegas like so many elderly people. On the evening of December 31, 2005, following a party washed down with plenty of wine, he had a fight with another resident of his retirement home. Hanley woke up to find the other man had been fatally stabbed in the head. He vaguely remembered having had a quarrel with his friend, who, he claims, had made sexual advances to him. In court, the case was prosecuted by two women attorneys and defended by two court-appointed lawyers.
Bourbon Strip is part of the four-episode documentary series, Sun City Law, of which one episode is in competition (Butchered Innocence) and the two others in the Fipatel (Skin Tone and Within Reach).
