Mijn VriendenMy Friends
''It is great to believe in something. I used to believe in Tito and Yugoslavia. It was a kind of religion, with a different kind of a God, though. We were all proud Tito pioneers who would grow up to become communists like our parents. Then it all fell apart and each of us became unhappy in our own way.''
This is a film about a generation of four friends who grew up together in Sarajevo. They now live in different countries around the world. They are my friends, Olja, Emina, Jasna, and the fourth one is me. What has happenned to them in the last 13 years: how did they get through the war, how do they live now, how do they relate to their former life? And what did they actually believe in back then? And what do they believe in now? Plus, there is a wedding, my wedding. Will my old friends come?
