Madâme, le film

John Paul Lepers was a journalist with the Vrai Journal on Canal+, from 1996 to 2002. He directed a film about Madame Bernadette Chirac. His aim: a portrait of France’s First Lady, and through it, a consideration of the 5th Republic. Television refused to program the film, which was considered "partial" and "too disrespectful." Madâme, le film, an determined, difficult inquiry into a republic with monarchic excesses, in which we are merely the subjects of a "King" and "Queen," while political power and the media maintain dangerous relations. The Chiracs will pass but the powers of the President will remain the same.
