Les Hommes volants de JoëlJoel's Flying Peoples
Joel Rabinowitz is a French painter and sculptor. He worked for many years in industry. He persuaded the heads of Renault to make their workshops more pleasant by repainting the walls and adorning them with murals. Then he heard from Clarins cosmetics. Later, he did murals and sculptures, inspired by life in the factories, streets and squares. His latest project: 15 columns 20 feet high, from which emerge, as if by levitation, 85 forms, all made of 20 millimeter thick aluminum plates. Behind the scope of the project and the gracious figures it produced is a renewed confirmation that art and industry can coexist and support one another. His motto: "Every factory is a living space in which people work. And every living space has a right to its work of art!".
