Les Belles de Cannes
An international event, cinephilic, televised, sophisticated, popular and commercial, the Cannes Film Festival showcases the finest in world cinema. Emmanuelle Béart became a star here alongside Michel Piccoli in La Belle Noiseuse in 1991. Marlène Jobert came here for the first time in 1971 for Les mariés de l'An II, but without co-star Jean-Paul Belmondo. Brigitte Fossey, whose childhood coincided with that of the festival in Forbidden Games, attends every year as a film buff. Three personalities, three periods of cinema history, three different experiences which could contribute to a intimate history of the Cannes Film Festival.
