Le Temps d'une chasse
In March 2004, a conflict broke out between the Innu of different communities of the Basse-Côte-Nord and the Newfoundland government. The media accused the Innus of slaughtering caribou. The Innu claimed they only did what they had been doing for thousands of years. The conflict reminds us that much remains to be done and that we’re far from understanding each other. This is a dispute that could grow worse from one hunting season to the next. At a time when it is a question of a new accord and a new division of territory, the film relates a hunt during which anything can happen.
