Le ProcèsThe Trial
Chantal and Blaise lived in the same small apartment house in central Nantes. Chantal had her workshop on the ground floor, where she made wedding dresses. Blaise, who was training to be a cook, had the studio just above. They were neighbors, met each other, and knew each other. One morning in November 2004, Blaise entered Chantal’s place, attacked her and left her for dead. Two years later, they were brought face to face in court. A two-day trial during which judges, attorneys and jurors analyzed the facts, examined the individuals, and retraced the events that left Chantal traumatized and Blaise in prison. Two days to sit in judgment of two fates. Exclusively, the filmmaker received special permission to follow the proceedings.
