Grande Hotel
In colonial days, the luxurious Grande Hotel was the point of reference of the city of Beira, in Mozambique. The Art Deco building is practically in ruins, but still functions as a shelter for thousands of Mozambicans. In this documentary, the hotel is revisited by the Portuguese architect who took part in its construction. This is the starting point for a harsh portrait of a city scarred by civil war and abandoned by the central government of the FRELIMO (the Mozambican Liberation Front).
