Godard, l'amour, la poésie...

Godard, Love and Poetry...

Godard, Love and Poetry… a title that is a novel in itself. The novel of a very special period of time in the career of a very special director. A flamboyant and somewhat mythical era that has captured cinema-goers’ imagination. The posters and pictures reminiscent of these years are still to be seen on dozens of postcards in the shops in Paris. It all began with a cinematic explosion in 1960 and ended five years later. In this short, but intense period, ten films were born – first in black & white, then in colour – all different and yet part of the same creative movement. One face dominated this period: that of actress Anna Karina… in the role of Veronica, Angela, Nana, Odile, Natacha or Marianne. One could say that this is the story of a man and a woman, of an encounter… The story of a woman, loved by the camera and the man behind the camera.
