Carmela, a woman who turned state’s evidence, ex wife of a Mafia boss, tells her story made of fear and courage, a passionate and unusual portrait of Sicilian women and their desire of redemption. After her husband’s arrest for murder, she chose to change her life, driven by her children. Even if she does not manage in convincing her man to collaborate with justice, Carmela has turned into a new woman: “I miss my country, but I’m happy with this new Carmela, because I’m feeling clean, free, a person like all the others. I’m free from the spiderweb that Mafia spins around you until you can’t breathe anymore”.
