Cédric Klapisch ce qui le meutCedric Klapish, Moving Movies
Cédric Klapisch strolls around the Bastille district, which he has often filmed. He talks about his first movie-going experiences, rediscovers his first Super 8 movies, recalls his exile to New York when he was a film student at NYU, then the difficult homecoming to Paris, and, finally, the first short film which brought him into the spotlight, Ce qui me meut. As with any auteur director, certain themes recur regularly in his work, as do certain filming methods, too. Loneliness in the cities, the romantic flights... The excerpts follow one another. We see him in the early morning hours, crossing Paris on a scooter to the set of his ninth film, Paris. This is the portrait of a filmmaker on the move, with the comments of Audrey Tautou, Cécile de France, Romain Duris, Zinedine Soualem, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Simon Abkarian.
