Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky is one of the most virtuous piano artists of our times. He visits Yekaterinburg to record a CD with the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra. On the program: Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concert No. 1 and the rarely played Piano Concerto of his fellow countryman, Aram Khatchaturian. This piece transports Boris Berezovsky ''into a state of paradise, as though everything were pure and beautiful, devoid of pollution, world problems or terrorists. It is as if I’ve vanished from the real world.'' The film accompanies Boris Berezovsky on his musical journey. It is like a winter journey through contemporary Russia. Berezovsky drives through nighttime Yekaterinburg, goes to the casino and improvises with a small band in a jazz club.
